next I headed to the beach in la Barceloneta this is the stacked cube statue that I searched near and far for the previous day when I met up with an old friend

the Mediterranean Sea with the W Hotel in the background

took a cable car over to the other side of town near Montijuc Castle

rings and things

it was a day of great views and sweet rides!

Spent the next day relaxing...as if I wasn't already a professional by now. I made it to el Born barrio

The Picasso museum is at the heart of this area. Surprisingly, I stayed at the museum for hours...I was never really into him..I thought it was all hype but this museum is the best of him...the wonder years of his youth in Spain

Lovely, lovely streets make up this part of town

beautiful old doors with the much coveted cast iron hands

It all ended with a jarra of Sangria...which I made my way through alone

That same day I went to el Jardines de la Ciudadela

bamboo escapes in the garden

inside of the park was a building that housed the Textile Museum, Furniture and Ceramics

My last and final trek of the day as the sun was setting was a sojourn to the infamous Park Guell...designed of course by Gaudi

the path to nowhere

Later that night took a long walk along the pier

It was a misty, mysterious night...

these docked boats were sparkling in their stillness

Traffic zipping through the square near the pier

apparently 1 out of every 3 accidental deaths in Barcelona occur during transit by foot...instead of being vigilant and watching for oncoming cars...`I took a photo...ha ha

First stop in Barcelona- La Sagrada Familia by Gaudi...due to be finished around 2024 or some craziness like that....

Entry way doors

Stained glass windows on the main floor were colossal in height...

The interior was daunting and humbling

Took the lift up and wasn't warned that I had to walk down a narrow staircase that wrapped the building and eventually led to a long downward spiral....dang
