Marrakesh: HIGHLIGHTS

It has been a dream of mine for quite some time...and it finally came true...after Barcelona, a last ditch effort and I FINALLY made my way to Morocco...not an entry I would have imagined...may I suggest not getting to Morocco in the cover of night...I felt like I was quite possibly on the verge of being hijaked...not so much because of my lack of Arabic or being only one of 2 women at the airport at 1am...but rather the way my "transfer" from the airport stopped in the middle of the Medina...empty, cobble stoned streets littered with kittens and the days garbage...the boot suddenly popping open and being told to follow the driver down several dark empty alley ways...

after a hectic arrival...several interrupted hours of sleep later...this was my first meal...one of many Tagines (lamb of course!) that I would devour...I mean enjoy during my week in Marrakesh

since I was held hostage in a hostel for 2 days...well not really but that's how I see it, when I got to my Riad I could have literally hugged the bed all day...

needless to say I loved every cavern of the room...the bathroom was a design delight...

courtyard in the Riad and an absolutely lovely breakfast and long cups of mint tea

Honestly I did more seeing than picture taking...I had much more trepidation that the Nikon necked tourist sauntering through the chaotic streets...what follows is not nearly what was seen but I got some decent shots in...
